Residence permit
The residence permit is a document issued by the Agência para a Integração, Migrações e Asilo (AIMA), which allows foreign citizens to reside in Portugal.
The residence permit must be renewed periodically.
Online renewal
Users whose permits expire in July can request the renewal online through AIMA's Renewal Portal.

Users with Residence Permits expired by June 30 2025 are being notified by email, by AIMA's Mission Structure, so they can proceed with the renewal.
In-person renewal
From 1 August 2025, the IRN will no longer be responsible for appointments related to residence permit renewals. Users with appointments scheduled at Registry Offices will be contacted and redirected to an AIMA Store.
If you have an in-person appointment at a Registry Office scheduled on or before 31 July, please attend at the designated time and place. If you are unable to attend, contact the service to cancel your appointment.
